Our Mission: comfort those in need, care for those that are hurting and love because Christ first loved us

Timothy & Janie Potter began His Rod & Staff with one goal in mind, sharing the gospel of Christ and making an eternal difference for hospice patients and their families. They relocated from Kentucky to Newnan in 2011 to be closer to their family, it did not take them long to fall in love with Newnan. They are active members in their community and in their church. They are members of Northside Baptist Church and invite you to join them there, if you don't already have a church home.

They also understand that meeting physical needs must be a priority and that example was set by Jesus throughout the scripture. Jesus did not turn the crowds away, instead He fed them. Even when He taught His disciples to pray, He said, "Give us this day our daily bread, forgive us our trespasses". He knows that to be effective in sharing the gospel, we must first meet the physical need.

Janie and Timothy also understand that they cannot do this alone. They need God's strength and guidance. As well as support from their family, the community, their church family and their friends no matter where you live. They welcome you to help in this endeavor which will have everlasting effects. Whether that help comes in the form of financial support or through the giving of your time and talents, let God's love be reflected in all you do.

There are several ways to volunteer. We are building a directory of companies and individuals who are willing to put their skills to work in order to ensure that a hospice patient can focus on living and enjoying time with family and friends. And not worrying about things like a porch that needs repairs, an AC unit that is unreliable or a car that won't start. If there is a need, we will work hard to find a volunteer partner to help meet that need. So, whether you are a mechanic, construction worker, babysitter or whatever your talent/skills are you can make a positive difference in the life of a hospice patient.

We are also looking for those individuals who have a heart for reaching others with the gospel of Christ. We know that the love of God is extended to everyone. John 3:16, tells us that God loved us so much, He sent His Son to die in our place. It is that wonderful message of love and redemption that we need your help in relaying. It is that wonderful message of salvation that we need you to share. God's grace and mercy has been extended to us and we therefore need to allow God to work through us to extend it to others.

God has given each of us talents. How will you use yours to glorify Him?

To ensure that EVERY one we reach knows that Christ loves them and that we are His love in action.

Reflect CHRIST in all we do.

Community: Reach out to assist and reach out for assistance.

Humility: We are humbled to be able to serve.

Respect: Show it to everyone, earn it from everyone.

Integrity: Always and all ways

Serve: Others and Christ

Trust: in the Lord with all our heart
